Since I started Olive Crazy, I have been surprised by the number of marijuana/olive connections I stumble across. There are several recipes for steeping marijuana buds in olive oil, and certainly videos to go along with with them. I will not be posting any of them on Olive Crazy.
I understand that any medicinal value marijuana may have is tainted by the politics behind marijuana. Lots of political candidates face the “have you ever smoked marijuana or used illegal drugs” question and some come up their version of the funny Bill Clinton quote, “When I was in England, I experimented with marijuana a time or two, and I didn’t like it. I didn’t inhale and never tried it again.” Marijuana is still a hot button issue and the political comments are still hilarious today.
I had a colleague from the other side once tell me that they never feared the question since they would emphatically state that they never smoked marijuana, and then let me know in a lighter moment that it was because they were fond of hash brownies. Prevaricators are everywhere.
Back to the news.
From the recorderonline.com comes an article about a warrant being served on a murder suspect in Lindsay, California and 123 plants found. Somehow, not explained in the article, this arrest lead to 4,225 marijuana plants found nestled among olive trees, with the total bust netting 25,567 M plants. I’m still not sure how the number went from 4,225 to 25,567, but it did. Many of the folks busted said they were growing it for medical needs. The court will decide.
May the sun shine through your branches.
