Today begins the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade‘s (NASFT) Fancy Foods Show. The show will last for three days and this year is being held in Washington, D.C at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
The NASFT says there will be 180,000 specialty products; 2,400 exhibitors; over 80 countries represented; and about 25,000 attendees.
Foody treats of every kind and from just about everywhere are featured. Alongside chocolates, cheeses, snacks, and spices will be olives and olive oils. When I went to the exhibitor search feature on the NASFT website and searched “olives” 274 vendors were displayed. I then searched “olive oil” and 371 vendors came up. Here is the link to the Fancy Foods Show exhibitor search. It even gives contact details for each vendor.
Here’s a heads up – the 37th Winter Fancy Foods Show will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California from January 15 – 17, 2012. It is a smaller show, featuring about 1,300 vendors from over 35 countries. It should prove to be just as exciting but with a bit more elbow room.
May the sun shine through your branches.
