I couldn’t resist passing this crazy olive news story along.
In Indio, California an olive farm filed suit against pesky balloonists for flying over their orchard, which is inside a walled compound. The compound is surrounded by a 24-foot-high, four-foot-thick security wall with turret-like structures. There are signs to warn intruders of an armed response. The farm alleges that the balloons put farm workers in peril. You know, the workers on three-story high stilts.
Also named as a defendant in the same case is an airplane company that is accused of flying too low over the property while dropping sterile insects. The olive farm now wants a gag order on all the defendants so they can’t talk to the media. Hmmmmm!
Those must be some super-cali-fragilistic Extra Virgin Olive Oil producing trees or (insert your favorite conspiracy theory here).
May the sun shine through your branches.
